I completely missed last months unboxing because I had been so busy but I’m going to rate one product I got in particular last month and that was my ‘Hairon’ de-tangle brush usually £6.99. I had never used one of these brushes before and I will never look back now. Oh MY EFFING GOD, it’s like I never have to worry about tangled hair again (I’m the kind of mum who has no shame in not brushing my hair for two days) but I’ve heard nothing but good things. Apparently many people have been using this on their children’s hair WITHOUT the murderous screams that usually come with it. I’m rating it a million out of ten!
But anyway, this is about my August edition. Apparently it’s Glossybox’s fifth birthday this month so this month’s box is a collaboration with ‘Rae Feather’ and I’m pretty sure that they’ve helped design the box this month as it’s different to the usual design! They’ve also added an accessory inside which happens to be my little bag which I will probably use for hair accessories.
In July we got to pick our very own MUA eyeshadow pallette that came in this month’s box which is always fun, getting to individualise your own subscription box somehow. I picked the MUA Hall of Fame pallette which contains 12 of their most popular shades. I haven’t opened it yet but you can already see that it looks professional and the colours are beautiful. I was actually after a new eyeshadow pallette so when I got this opportunity to choose my own, I jumped to the chance!
The next thing I saw on opening was this Spa to You Deep Pore Facial Cleansing Brush. I’m not going to lie, I don’t brush my face (I laughed whilst typing that, definitely not a beauty kinda girl) but this month I have suddenly broken out so I do think some special skin care routine is in order. I’ve heard that this brush is gentle compared to most which is probably best for someone who has never done it before so I look forward to trying it out and seeing if exfoliating my face actually makes a difference!
The next thing was the Cowshed Wild Cow Invigorating Body Lotion which I hear comes highly rated. This has come in a travel sized bottle but the 300ml bottle is usually £20. It contains lemongrass, ginger and rosemary so I can only imagine it’s a reviving product to use. I have had a whiff and it has a beautiful scent so I’m really looking forward to trying it out!
The next thing is the Mudmasky Facial Detox Purifying Recovery Mask which I’d never actually heard of so after looking it up I discovered that the reviews have yet again been mainly five stars. Apparently after just one use it repairs your pores and leaves your skin softer, brighter and compact. It’s a natural mask and I can certainly agree that it smells natural so I’m looking forward to using this. I’m really glad that my Glossybox consisted mainly of skincare products this month as (like I stated earlier) my skin has broken out BIG TIME this month which is very unlike me so it’s saved me a trip to Boots to find some Miracle wonders.
Also included in this box was the little bag by Rae Feather (but only available in Glossybox as it is the GB theme) which is almost like a mini canvas bag. It is a decent size but not big enough for my make up (I just own a lot) so it’s really handy for keeping those sneaky bobby pins in. Ah, who am I kidding? Those suckers are still going to get lost.
My favourite thing has to be the pallette of course but I’m loving the fact that this box contained all of the things I was pretty much hoping to buy this month and hopefully now I don’t have to!
